More Sitios for BENECO Energization Eyed

The Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) is looking to energize 20 to 21 sitios in Benguet in 2024.

The electric cooperative is waiting for the amount of P50 million from the National Electrification Administration (NEA) which the agency promised to deliver to BENECO this year to continue its countryside energization thrust under the government’s Sitio Energization Program (SEP).

The list of sitios targeted for energization was earlier provided to NEA by BENECO based on the requests of the province’s local government units. BENECO’s records show that sitios from Kabayan, Kibungan, Sablan, and Tuba will likely be the first for the project.

In the meantime, Mark Amisola, an engineer from the Network Services Department, is also currently finalizing the list of other sitios that will be sent to NEA for another funding of around P50 million.
